Part I: The history of DAHLBERG S.A. and B&G

The history of DAHLBERG SA is closely linked to the company B&G through its founder Kjell Dahlberg and B&G’s technical service in Mallorca since 1972. His friendship with Mr. Arthur Gale, director of the technical department, brings the opportunity to Margarita Dahlberg in 1979, to undertake her technical training in B&G as trainee at the same department.

From there and throughout her training, she participated as part of the Regattas technical service and during the Come Week in 1979 (remembered by all of us for the unfortunate tragedy of the Fasnet Race of the Royal Ocean Racing Club) she was introduced to the founder of B&G, Major R.N. Gatehouse.

It was during that year that the first prototypes of the Hercules 190 were in their testing phase and Margarita declares:

“It was a very exciting moment for me seeing from the inside, the development process by the hand of the designers and how the system collected the information, processing it, and distributing it to the different multifunctional displays. It was a very novel concept and technology”.

This technical know-how and experience acquired at B&G, gave to DAHLBERG a competitive advantage by obtaining in 1980 one of the exclusive official B&G Technical Service certificates, and it must be said that Margarita Dahlberg was the first woman to achieve it. In 1984 the company became the official B&G distributor for Spain until 1991. In 1998 the company obtained the “BUSSINES GROWTH” award and on the 50th anniversary of B&G (2006) granted a special recognition for three decades of support to B&G.
